Tech Help Resources and Where to Find Them?

Almost every hardware and software company in the world has some kind of online technical support and product information for the products they sell. If you want to download drivers from a hardware company, call them for help, download a manual, or look into a problem with their hardware or software, you need to find their technical support information. This is how.

How to Locate Technical Support Documentation

Most of the time, it’s easy and takes less than 10 minutes to find tech support information for your hardware and software.

1. Use a big search engine like Google or Bing to find the company that made the item.

For example, the following are great search terms to use to find information about technical support for the hardware company AOpen:

  • aopen support
  • aopen drivers
  • aopen technical support

Once you find their website, use the menus at the top or bottom to find relevant downloads, documentation, support information, contact information, etc.

Some smaller companies might not have specific areas for self-help as bigger companies do, but they usually have phone numbers for support. If you think this might be the case, just search for the company’s name and try to find this information on their website.

2. If you can’t find tech support online, the company is probably no longer in business or doesn’t offer support online. You’re probably out of luck if you’re looking for a phone number, an email address, or other direct technical support information.

You could also try a tool called a “driver updater.” This is a program that scans your computer’s hardware and compares the driver version installed to a database of the most recent drivers. This makes the task a bit easier.

3. Lastly, we always suggest that you look for support on the internet, even if it’s not from the company that made your hardware. You can also get help from a friend, a computer repair shop, or even an online “fix it” service.
