Sony’s Second Trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has broken several viewership records. It is not only the most-watched trailer in the Spider-Verse franchise, but also the most-watched superhero movie trailer of the summer and the second-most-watched trailer for any recent Marvel movie.
Since its release yesterday, the new trailer has received 148.6 million views, surpassing the totals achieved by the trailers for the upcoming superhero blockbusters Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (116.9M) and The Flash (81.6M) in the first 24 hours.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (121.6 million views), Thor: Love and Thunder (98.1 million views), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (84.8 million views), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is recent Marvel movies that lag Across the Spider-Verse in terms of views for a second trailer.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a 2018 Best Animated Feature Oscar winner from Sony that made over $384 million globally, will have two sequels. As Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Brooklyn’s resident-friendly neighborhood Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse meets up with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld).
They Are Propelled through the multiverse and come across a group of Spider-People tasked with preserving its very existence. Miles is placed against the other Spiders when the heroes disagree on how to tackle a new threat.
He is forced to reexamine what it means to be a hero in order to defend the ones he cares about most. The film, which was based on Marvel Comics, was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.

Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham wrote the screenplay. Several other actors, including Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac, also contributed their voices to the sequel.
With Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, Aditya Sood, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis serving as executive producers, the film was produced by Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Lord, Miller, and Christina Steinberg.

In addition to Past Lives from A24, Rise from Blue Fox Entertainment, The Boogeyman from 20th, and Simulant from Vertical, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse debuts on June 2. On March 29, 2024, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third installment in the franchise, is scheduled to hit theaters.
