  • Sponge Leis for Your Beach Getaway

Make a sponge lei for each member of the family to take their turn wearing. When you’re not in the water, the wet material will help you stay cool. This is a piece of cake! Make a necklace by slicing up some sponge and stringing it together.

Get it wet and put it on before you leave for the day. You’ll stay cool thanks to the evaporation. Before you use it, put it in the freezer for an extra cooling effect. Then, you can take it to the beach in sealed sandwich bags.

  • Use a fitted sheet to create a sand-free zone

Creating a sand-free area is a great goal! Keep your baby from getting sand in their eyes by using a fitted sheet with bags, coolers, etc. at the corners. When there is wind, this trick works especially well because it helps keep the fun and the mess contained.

It prevents the sand from slamming into your body!! Crawling and exploring their new spot with sand-free toes will be a blast for your little one. Also, don’t forget to bring an umbrella for shade.

  •  Use a Kiddie Pool to Keep Your Children Safe

Use a kiddie pool at the beach to keep babies, toddlers, and even equipment contained. What a brilliant concept! It can be exhausting to spend a long period of time at the beach worrying about your safety because of the constant pounding of the waves.

Create a kid-friendly area by bringing a kiddie pool. When my children were small, this would have provided me with much-needed peace of mind. You may also make sure kids are well-shaded by placing a beach umbrella strategically throughout their time on the sand.

  • Keep a record of when you last put on sunscreen on the beach

I was inconsolable the first time my child had a sunburn. When I realized I hadn’t reapplied sunscreen, I was enraged! My mom made the same mistake, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. UGH.

How many times have you neglected to reapply sunscreen (and how often) because you’ve been distracted by other activities? I’m in the same boat! Those issues will no longer be a factor in my life.

Make a list of the times you’ll need to reapply sunscreen and bring a marker to jot them down. Spray bottle sunscreen is my favorite, too, because it’s so much simpler to apply, especially to wiggly kids.

  • How to Make a Freezer Balloon Cooler

Water balloons filled with water can be frozen and packed into a cooler to help keep food fresh. Great for keeping your food cool but dry, with the added bonus of fun!! Water balloon fight when they’re all defrosted!

Even a wagon or a basket on the bottom of strollers can be used as a cooler for this one.

  • Keep Your Phone in a Secure Place

For your phone and keys, you can use plastic peanut butter jars. The sand and surf won’t be able to get inside, but they’re still accessible when you need them. Brilliant! It’s also possible to use zip-top plastic bags, but I like this method because it’s more secure. No matter what you decide, packing it for the beach won’t be a problem.

  •  Make Lemonade Pouches

Bring either alcoholic or non-alcoholic lemonade pouches for adults and children to stay hydrated. These can be eaten on the go, and they’re wonderful!

  •  Make a DIY Slushi (with Capri Suns!)

Bring chilled Capri Suns for the youngsters. Capri Suns that have been frozen. You may cool off on a hot day at the beach by letting them thaw out for a few minutes. Don’t forget to pack some spoons as well. Putting your water bottles in the freezer is a great way to save money.

To keep your food chilled, freeze your water bottles instead of bringing ice packs. You’ll be able to enjoy ice-cold water for a long time and keep your snacks fresh.

  • Make Aloe Vera Ice Cubes from Aloe Vera

Make sure you’re protected from the sun if that happens! Make aloe vera ice cubes and freeze them. Sunscreen is wonderful, but it seems like SOMEONE is always a touch pink after a day at the beach.

These cubes will come in handy! All you have to do is freeze the aloe vera in an ice cube tray until you need it later. Make sure you don’t end up like this by using the above-mentioned advice to apply sunscreen on a frequent basis!
