Ichiei Ishibumi, the author of the light novel series High School DxD, has stated that a fifth season is in the works, according to certain unofficial reports. AT-X in Japan and Funimation in the United States will release it on 7 July 2023.

There will be a total of 12 episodes this season, each lasting 22 minutes. The coronavirus pandemic forced the postponement of High School DxD’s Season 5 to November 2023 from its initial 2021 release date.

The first season of the anime adaptation aired in 2012 and was a huge success, inspiring the animators to produce a second, third, and fourth seasons, which were published in 2013, 2015, and 2018 respectively.

The narrative begins with a Promotion Test during the argument. Issei, Akeno, and Kiba, three young students, are preparing for the test. Issei Hyoudou, a student at Kuoh Academy, is the focus of the story.

It used to be exclusively for female students, but it has recently opened its doors to male students as well. This hidden school was attended by beings of all kinds, including angels, beasts, and even demons.

He is a typical college student who has a laid-back outlook on life. Yuma Amano asks Issei out on a date on a normal day. She then takes Issei to a nearby park after their date. She asks him to put his own life at risk for her sake.

As it turns out, she is actually Raynare, a fallen angel. The school’s third-year student Rias Gremory uses her magical card to stop Yuma’s murderous plot against Issei. Upon waking up the next day, Issei believes it was all a nightmare.

He is attacked by another fallen angel as soon as he wakes up. After revealing herself to be a demon and informing him of the death of his best friend, Yuma, Issei learns that she was the one who brought him back to life.
