Charity Lawson Is Appointed as The Next Bachelorette: “I Could Meet My Partner and Get Married”
A new Bachelorette has arrived!
On Tuesday’s Women Tell All special, host Jesse Palmer asked Charity Lawson from Zach Shallcross‘s season of The Bachelor to be next season’s Bachelorette. She agreed!
“Stop! Is this really true?” Lawson, 27, said. “No way! Oh my god, I’m going to cry.”
Palmer, who was 44 at the time, made sure the offer was real and asked, “Do you mean yes? Will you do it?”
“Absolutely!” Lawson said. “100 percent!”

She started crying. Lawson said, “I’ve been waiting for a long time to meet the love of my life.” “I can’t believe I could meet my soul mate, get engaged, and live happily ever after.
At the end of Monday’s episode, Shallcross, who is 26, sent Lawson home after meeting her family in Georgia. Lawson said to Shallcross during hometowns, “I’m really falling in love.”
So, as expected, when Lawson was sent home, it hurt even more.
“Coming here and putting my heart on the line was a big risk,” she told Shallcross. “And I knew from the first night when you spoke and I realized it was you, that this experience was going to be something amazing. It’s definitely bittersweet.”
“Letting Lawson go was the hardest choice I’ve ever had to make,” said The Bachelor. He also said he couldn’t love her as much as he thought he should.
The child and family therapist told the cameras, “It hurts because it doesn’t make sense.” “It doesn’t make any goddamn sense to me.”
Lawson said before she was kicked off that she could “absolutely see herself at the end of this with Zach.”
She told Palmer, 44, “He’s just done such a great job of making me feel seen and wanted by just being himself.” “That’s all I’ve ever wanted,” she said.
Earlier in the season, Lawson admitted that she had “infidelity incidents” in a past relationship.
During her one-on-one in Estonia, she said, “The relationship I was in before I came here was emotionally abusive for me.” “I’ve never really known what it’s like to be a partner or a girlfriend,” she said.

Lawson said that her ex-boyfriend cheated on her with a person she knew. The Auburn University grad said, “It just turned into a really bad cycle of manipulation.”
Now, Lawson is looking forward to her happy ending. On Tuesday’s episode, she told the cameras, “I’m so ready to get engaged to the right person.”
She also knows how important it is to take on this role.
Lawson continued, “I can’t wait to show little girls who look like me that they can get to where I am.” “I’m sure I’ll make a lot of people happy.”
