Leslie Grace, best known for her part in In the Heights, will make her film debut as Batgirl, or Barbara Gordon, alongside J.K. Simmons, who will reprise his Justice League role as James Gordon, the commissioner of police in Gotham City, in the film.
Titans season 3 had a cameo appearance by the renowned DC Comics character, but a Batgirl standalone film has yet to be released on the big screen.
It won’t be long before we see Grace’s vigilante Barbara Gordon – in her distinctive blue and yellow suit and full cowl – on the big screen, thanks to a talented crew that includes Birds of Prey author Christina Hodson and Bad Boys For Life filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Fans may now get their first glimpse at Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, nicknamed Batman, thanks to fresh photographs from the Batgirl set. In a series of tweets, the set photographs of Keaton’s Batman were made public. Keaton is likely to star as Batman in the next film, however storyline details are limited at this time.
That’s not all, either. Earlier this month, Grace posted a picture of the purple and yellow superhero suit she’ll be wearing as Barbara in the movie on Instagram, with the comment “Batgirl: Year One”.
JK Simmons, who played Commissioner Gordon in the Justice League, will reprise his role in the film, which will take place in the DCEU’s mainline continuity.
Here’s everything you need to know about DC’s Batgirl.
