The Netflix original series Locke & Key, created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, premiered in 2020. After the murder of their father, three siblings relocate to a house with many reality-distorting keys. In terms of storyline, the show has largely stayed loyal to the comics, while season 2 introduced even more familiar elements to the screen.
Season 3 of the Locke family saga has already been announced by Netflix, which means there will be plenty more twists and turns to come.
No sign of Locke & Key slowing down in popularity around the world. A look at the upcoming third season, including who might return, what it’ll be about, and when we might anticipate its release, is provided below.
Locke And Key Season 3 Release Date: Locke & Key’s Release Date Is Still Up In The Air
Even though the third season has been slated for Netflix’s 2022 lineup, Joe Hill has confirmed that there will be a shorter wait than season 2. Assuming Netflix hasn’t already begun its marketing campaign for the series, it’s likely to premiere between April and July 2022.
As the show has done exceptionally well, it is unlikely that the process of releasing it on the streaming platform as quickly as possible will be interrupted. The second season received more positive reviews from critics, and it remained in Netflix’s top 10 for an extended period of time, so we can only hope that it will return to our screens as soon as possible.

Locke And Key Season 3 Characters: Who Will Reappear From the Original Cast?
The Locke Family has been announced to return for the upcoming season. Aside from Tyler (Connor Jessup) and Kinsey (Emilia Jones), the other members of the Locke family are Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) and Nina (Darby Stanchfield) (Aaron Ashmore). Speaking about the end of production for season three, Stanchfield said that her character would definitely be returning.
Season 3 will see the return of Kevin Durand’s Frederick Gideon and Scot McKay, as well as a slew of supporting players (Patrice Jones). Brendan Hines, whose character Josh is related to Captain Gideon, will almost certainly play an important role in the show. Josh and the Locke family are likely to work together in the face of adversity.
Locke And Key Season 3 Plot: What Can We Expect?
When Dodge was vanquished at the end of season 2, the storyline of the series shifted. Both Captain Gideon and a new menace were brought back to life thanks to the use of Eden’s Echo Key. When a demon took control of a soldier and killed him, Gideon became a powerful weapon for the demon realm. He was established as the series’ main adversary in the second season. It’s interesting how far this plot diverges from the comics and has no connection to them. This heightens the intrigue by raising questions about the intricacies of how the plot will play out.
There’s a good chance that the Lockes will find a slew of new keys to help them defeat Captain Gideon. As Tyler was grieving the death of his fiancée, he also decided to forget about magic, while Bode utilized the memory key to help their mother rediscover the magic. We might expect some tension as a result of this, and characters may find themselves second-guessing their previous judgments.
In the upcoming series, the family dynamic will be put to the test in a way that hasn’t been seen before. Top Netflix Original Series, as ranked by the streaming service’s users.
