For the most part in anime, we’re used to seeing the combination of two characters with quite opposite personalities since they can make for a really memorable partnership. Some romantic comedy anime programs, especially those that feature two separate characters connecting, make the idea of two different characters bonding even more special by taking a slow burn approach to their loving union.
When two protagonists eventually uncover their genuine love for each other, the journey can seem to progress at a glacial pace, especially when their friends, coworkers, and family are continuously shouting along with the audience about how clear those sentiments are to everyone else. The good news is that for a series that is heavy on humorous moments like “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” fans have no problem with the series’ protagonists taking their sweet time to figure out their feelings because they can genuinely laugh while doing it.
Shinichi and Hana, an original manga series written and illustrated by Take, premiered in 2017 and depicts a loner introvert named Shinichi and his exuberant and bothersome classmate Hana (via Anime News Network). An anime version of the series, which premiered in 2020, was not long in coming. Shortly after season one’s conclusion, a trailer was published that confirmed that the show would return for a second season.
Here’s all we know so far about “Uzaki-chan Want to Hang Out!” Season 2 now that we have an official release date.
Release Date Of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2
Although “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” premiered on July 10, 2020, the first season only featured 12 episodes, leaving many viewers eager to see more of Hana and Shinichi’s slice-of-life antics. It’s a good thing that the show is returning for a second season, but it’s going to take some time. The second season is presently set for release in 2022, according to Funimation. At the earliest, fans can expect a Winter 2022 Anime season release in January 2022, which Funimation didn’t specify a definite date for.
Season 2 could repeat the summer launch date of Season 1 and begin in July 2022, otherwise. Season 2 of “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” appears to be destined for Japanese television, but that does not exclude out a release for a global audience. Streamed Season 1 of the series live in Japan via Funimation (via Anime News Network). Because of the company’s tweeting about Season 2, it appears that the series will likely be streamed again when it airs in other countries.

Cast Of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2
Season 1 of “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” (through Funimation) introduced us to college loner Shinichi Sakurai and his underclassmen Hana Uzaki. By happenstance, the two high school friends ended up attending the same university. Although Hana made it her mission to get Shinichi to come out of his shell, the group ended up being close friends. Season 2 will continue to focus on the show’s two leading ladies, as they struggle to accept their growing love for one another.
The rest of the supporting cast from Season 1 will return. As well as Sakaki and Asai, this contains Sakaki’s best friend Itsuhiko Sakaki. During the previous season, Itsuhiko and Ami teamed up in an attempt to bring Hana and Shinichi together romantically. In Season 2, we can expect to see the two continuing to work on their relationship.
It’s possible that we’ll see more of Hana’s family in the upcoming season when it comes to animation debuts. Last season, Tsuki Uzaki, Hana’s mother, made an appearance, as did Kiri Uzaki, Hana’s younger brother, in the season’s finale.
On the official anime site, a crucial graphic shows that Hana’s younger sister Yunagi Uzaki will make her debut in Season 2. Her bangs conceal her eyes as she stands in the shadows, keeping tabs on her older sister and Shinichi. A full family reunion might be brought to the anime by Hana’s father Fujio Uzaki’s appearance with her siblings and mother, as well.
Plot Of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out Season 2
“Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” Season 1 centred on Hana and Shinichi’s daily lives as her pranks to encourage her upperclassman abandon his solitary lifestyle resulted in a number of embarrassing occurrences. With that said, if the series’ season finale is any indication, fans should expect a stronger focus on romance in Season 2. Episode 12 of the anime series covers chapters 30-34 of the manga, which roughly corresponds to the beginning of Volume 4 of the manga (via Seven Seas Entertainment). Even while Shinichi continues to struggle to put up with Hana’s behaviour in the later chapters of the manga, the two are getting closer to recognising that their friendship goes deeper than they first assumed. However, even as the two begin to act more like a couple, the revelation does not come easily.
Hana and Shinichi’s friends, family, even the fortune teller all try their best to tell them the most obvious truth about their affections for one another and to help bring them together. However much more of the manga Season 2 covers, it should have a lot to work with when Season 2 comes. Seven volumes of the manga have been released in Japan thus far (via Crunchyroll).
“Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” Season 1 centred on Hana and Shinichi’s daily lives as her pranks to encourage her upperclassman abandon his solitary lifestyle resulted in a number of embarrassing occurrences. In Season 2, if the season finale is any indication, the show may begin to focus more on its love aspects. With Episode 12 covering chapters 30-34, or roughly where Volume 4 of the manga begins, the anime closely follows the manga (via Seven Seas Entertainment). While Shinichi’s struggle to tolerate Hana’s antics continues in the manga, the two are much closer to recognizing that their friendship goes deeper than they initially assumed. Even as the two begin to act more like a couple, the realisation is difficult to come by.
There are many people in the manga that do their utmost to bring Hana and Shinichi together by pointing out the most obvious facts about their affections for one another. We’re not sure how much more of the manga will be covered in Season 2, but by the time it comes, there should be plenty to draw from. Seven volumes of the manga have been released in Japan thus far (via Crunchyroll).
Uzaki-Chan Wants To Hang Out Action
Hana Uzaki reunites with Shinichi Sakurai, an upperclassman she was in a club with in high school, when she begins her freshman year at college. But to her astonishment, the once-involved senior has turned into a “lonesome” student, preferring to spend his spare time in calm tranquilly.
Whether it’s persuading Sakurai to go to the movies or to his part-time job, Uzaki tries everything she can to keep him from feeling “alone.” The fact that Sakurai finds Uzaki tedious and boring doesn’t deter him from participating in her antics, despite the fact that she’s bound to lead the two of them into numerous funny situations.
Although their friendship only gets better as the days go by, others around them mistakenly assume they are a married couple because of their closeness. Fun and cute wackiness are always guaranteed when Uzaki wants to spend time with her older classmates!
It is exciting news for fans of the anime series Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out because the series has been officially renewed for a second season!
