“Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” is a reference to what? It’s a crocodile-themed children’s musical! What a guy! He has a scarf on, and he sings! Pop singer Shawn Mendes lends his voice to the role of the character.
First look at “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” Sony Pictures’ live-action adaptation of Bernard Waber’s children’s book series starring Mendes as the singing, dancing, CGI reptile.
As the Primm’s, played by Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy, and Winslow Fegley, settle into their new apartment in Manhattan, they discover Lyle, a CGI singing crocodile, waiting for them in the tub of their bathroom.
Caviar is also a favorite of his. As well as Lyle putting his head out of an NYC cab like a puppy while wearing a Florida Gators jersey, the teaser shows the Primm family creating a portrait of him.
The Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti (Javier Bardem), to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and that a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality is nothing to be ashamed of when Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman) threatens Lyle’s existence.
