Survivor 42 is expected to begin filming in mid-May. It’s expected to have filmed for only 26 days, similar to season 41, as opposed to the 39 days of many previous seasons. That means Survivor 42 will be shot in the months of May and June 2021.
Who is in the Survivor 42 cast?
–Chanelle Howell
Given her experience as an executive recruiter, Chanelle Howell expected acquiring the data to be second nature. With determination, a strong work ethic, and professional success based on creating relationships, the 29-year-old believes she has the “toolset” to win. And she’s hopeful that her previous experience with “the sale” would provide her with a plethora of items to purchase with the million-dollar prize.
–Daniel Strunk
Daniel Strunk has been a survivor since he was a child, when he was diagnosed with leukemia. And the 30-year-old law clerk has been humbled by the experience, even if a little self-deprecating. But perhaps his humility is only a warm-up for how he intends to play: goofy rather than cunning, and seeking to turn his obsessive Survivor fandom into a winning strategy.
–Drea Wheeler
Drea Wheeler has never been one to back down from a challenge. After sadly losing her father at a young age, the fitness expert has lived life to the fullest, striking out on her own to launch a successful business. And the 35-year-old intends to take that attitude to the beach, where she plans to whip her camp into shape and avoid any controversy.
–Hai Giang
Hai Giang, a data scientist, has faced many challenges during his life. He grew up poor and lonely after arriving with his parents from Vietnam. He found peace on the screen by going across the world with Survivor. And he carries that independence to the game, with no intention of clinging to long-term allegiances–or even his initial tribe–in the future.
–Jackson Fox
Years ago, a dare set in motion a chain of circumstances that led to Jackson fox landing on the beaches of Fiji. The healthcare worker confesses he’ll be a fly on the wall for the first few days at camp, but attributes his ability to withstand adversity to growing up in a Southern Baptist community later in life. Even while the 48-year-old considers himself a softie when it comes to animals, any humans who get in his way should beware.
–Jenny Kim
If Jenny Kim, 43, is seeking for a lot of it, she’ll find it in the twist-filled world of Survivor. The creative designer has already been labeled a shark, and she aims to use her experience as a leader to guide some fish in the shape of the other candidates. She also brags about her social skills, assuming that her warmth and inherent trustworthiness will cause her to be overlooked until it’s too late.
–Jonathan Young
Jonathan Young, 29, is no stranger to endurance, having competed in the Survivor-style reality series of the same name when he was 14 years old. The proprietor of a beach service company recognizes his physical presence and hopes to present himself as a helpful member of his tribe. But there’s a darker side to this beach, and he’s ready to spend his time on the island with turmoil and mischief.
— Lindsay Dolashewich
When it comes to Survivor, dietitian Lindsay Dolashewich considers herself to be well-balanced. The 31-year-old operates a business counseling people from all walks of life, confident in her ability to persuade others to take risks. She also hopes to be surrounded by alliance members that are as outgoing, lively, and honest as she is.
–Lydia Meredith
Lydia Meredith has worked as a waitress, actress, and bartender, so she knows her way around a CV. Despite being one of the cast’s younger members, the 22-year-old has demonstrated her independence from a young age, travelling cross-country on her own. And she plans to take advantage of her youth by being everyone’s little sister before chopping down the family tree with a chainsaw.
–Marya Sherron
Marya Sherron is on a personal adventure through the South Pacific islands. She pushed herself to live life to the fullest after losing her brother to COVID in 2020. However, the 47-year-old is counting on her experience as a teacher and a mother to ensure that she does not appear to be a real threat. She’ll also be seeking for others that want to get as much out of this journey as she does.
–Maryanne Oketch
Maryanne Oketch goes on Survivor to prove that the “strange kids” can win. The 24-year-old aims to use her outgoing personality to her advantage, while she warns that her outgoing personality could be a double-edged sword. Despite the fact that this 26-day experience will keep her on her toes at all times, the seminary student feels grounded and prepared because of her steadfast faith.
–Mike Turner
Mike Turner believes he’s been playing Survivor since he was five years old, learning how to perform in any situation with his street smarts. Despite his gruff attitude, the 58-year-old takes pride in being pleasant, to the point where he finds it difficult to say no. However, he thinks that his voice will be dominating in terms of loudness and strategy, making the retired firefighter accountable for putting out a lot of fires along the way.
–Omar Zaheer
Survivor has been likened to a monster, a wild animal. And no one can tame it better than exotic animal vet Omar Zaheer. The 31-year-old intends to leverage his lack of outdoor experience to reduce his competition’s threat level. But he intends to play like the creatures he sees on a regular basis: camouflaged, watchful, and a predator with keen claws.
–Rocksroy Bailey
Rocksroy Bailey is the first to admit that he despises being in the spotlight. But it doesn’t mean he isn’t up for the challenge. He hopes that a career in environmental consultancy will allow him to appeal to a large number of castaway clients and establish a portfolio. And, given that the 44-year-old resides in Las Vegas and has the word “rocks” in his name, it’s safe to assume he’s willing to take a risk or two in order to cash in on the million-dollar prize.
–Romeo Escobar
Romeo Escobar arrives on Survivor with a narrative that not even Shakespeare could top. The 37-year-old was conditioned to survive and endure by immigrating to the United States at a young age and growing up in a terrible area. He’s come a long way from humble beginnings to working with Olympic athletes and beauty queens, and now the pageant coach hopes to win his own Survivor sash as the season 42 champion.
–Swati Goel
Swati Goel, who is 19 years old, is the season’s youngest contender. But she’s already had an eventful life, having joined Survivor only days after completing her Army National Guard basic training. The Harvard student is unsure which aspect of herself will emerge on Fiji’s battlefield, but one thing is certain: she is not terrified.
–Tori Meehan
Tori Meehan is used to being a source of comfort and company as a therapist. But now, the 25-year-old intends to use her enormous psychological understanding to her advantage, even to making strategic decisions on what colors she’ll wear in the pregame. And, despite having a “crazy and loud” off-camera attitude, she’s trying to keep it hidden long enough to bring home the win for herself and her Survivor superfan family.

–Zach Wurtenberger
Zach Wurtenberger regards himself as a student, both academically and in terms of Survivor. The 22-year-old is as old as the show itself, and he’s hoping that his wide-eyed awe at realizing a lifelong dream will reduce his threat level. Then, towards the end, he may swoop in and use his speech and debate experience to make a powerful closing argument that will win him the million-dollar prize.
