In support of their claims, the anime industry may point to a wealth of Isekai works. I’m not exaggerating when I say “a tonne.”
KonoSuba, also known as Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo!, is a spoof and satire of the Isekai genre. Global fans gave it high marks, and it quickly rose to the ranks of the best-loved Isekai series of all time.
And as a fellow fan, I know you’re eager to hear details about Season 3 of the show. This article provides the most in-depth look at KonoSuba Season 3 and its potential release to date.
We have the latest information about the release date, official announcements, sales, and rumors. Grab your favorite girly body pillows, because I’m about to spill the details on the upcoming third season of KonoSuba.
Before we dive into Season 3 talk, though, let’s take a short look at what’s currently available in ‘KonoSuba.’

The premiere date for the third season of KonoSuba has not been set. Despite the show’s announcement, it is still in the early stages of development and will likely be at least a year before it airs.
The first two seasons of KonoSuba both premiered in January, therefore we can probably expect the premiere of the third season in the same month in 2023. Once a new season has been announced, it usually takes between 12 and 18 months to actually air.
It’s for this reason that we won’t be getting season 3 of KonoSuba until 2023. You shouldn’t count on it happening this year, but we should have the release date by the end of the year.
If/when the official KonoSuba Twitter account announces the premiere date for Season 3, I will update this site accordingly.

The storyline of KonoSuba Season 3
In KonoSuba, we follow Kazuma Sat, a young kid who suffers a fatal heart attack after saving a girl from an oncoming truck. But after his death, he finds himself in a fantasy realm with the goddess Aqua, the wizard Megumin, and the knight Darkness as members of his dysfunctional party.
Season three of KonoSuba will most likely adapt volumes six and seven of the light novel series, considering the first two seasons and film covered the first five volumes.
This point onwards may contain spoilers, as these volumes show Darkness leaving to marry a lord and, conceivably, permanently splitting up the ragtag band of adventurers.
As word of Kazuma’s successes against the Devil King spread, he was rewarded handsomely. Eventually, this piques the interest of The Crown, and Princess Iris enlists his aid in apprehending The Chivalrous Thief Chris, who has stolen from the Empire.
However, after a disastrous clash with the Devil King’s army, Kazuma is forced to flee and is separated from his allies. The reborn gamer must then clear his name while also uncovering a massive royal conspiracy.
As the growing romance between Kazuma and Megumin was a focal point of the 2019 film, it is probable that this will be explored further in season three.

Takaomi Kanasaki, with support from Studio Deen and J.C. Staff, directed the first two seasons of the Konosuba anime adaptation.
