Fletcher began seeing Phillip Schofield in the BBC1 broom cupboard with Gordon the Gopher while in his final year of acting at the Guildford School of Acting and concluded that a career in children’s television was for him. After that, he met Phillip Schofield, who advised him to create a show reel to show to television producers.

He created a show reel called Justin Time, which included two characters: Anna Conda, a myopic reptile-house warden, and Arthur Sleep, a regional announcer who has trouble keeping awake and can sleep anywhere at any time.

For his CBeebies show Gigglebiz, he employed both characters. Following graduation, he worked with Dave Benson Phillips on the GMTV show Fun Song Factory (he had earlier done Playdays on the stage after its cancellation, portraying the character Mr. Jolly). As his first full-time presenting gig, Fletcher hosted the GMTV series Fun Song Factory for a year beginning in 1998. In 2004, he returned to the show as the voice of Ozzy. Fletcher also performed numerous songs in 1998, including the theme song for the children’s stop motion cartoon series Tom and Vicky.

He played Wishy Washy in the pantomime Aladdin at the Hexagon theatre in Reading from December 2011 to January 2012.

In recent years, he has appeared in two pantomimes in Woking, seven pantomimes in Reading, and will return to the Hexagon in 2018 for the pantomime Aladdin. Fletcher played Buttons in Cinderella, which he also penned, in 2019.
