Dwayne Johnson Says It’s Going To Be a Live-Action Version of Moana!
Disney’s Animation Movie Moana, which debuted in 2016, is getting a live-action version, according to Dwayne Johnson. The American actor said he was “truly humbled” to make the news and noted that the tale was “emblematic of our culture’s elegance, mana, and warrior might.”
The Animated Movie Moana tells the tale of a bold adolescent who sets out on a perilous expedition to save her people with the assistance of the boisterous demi-god Maui, voiced by Johnson. On the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, Johnson made a little web video with his daughters where he announced the project.
He sent a message on Instagram saying, “Deeply humbled to announce we’re bringing the wonderful narrative of Moana to the live-action big screen.” The elegance, mana, and martial stoicism of our people are symbolized by this story, which is part of my culture.
Humbled to say we’re bringing #MOANA’s beautiful story to the live action big screen!#MAUI changed my life (miss you grandpa) and I’m honored to partner with @DisneyStudios to tell our story thru the realm of music & dance, which at the core is who we are as Polynesian people🪝 pic.twitter.com/CxJFKQewUS

Dwayne Johnson included a dedication to his grandpa, high chief Peter Maivia, in the video, who served as an inspiration to him as he played the part of Maui. “I proudly display my culture on my body and in my soul, and I am deeply moved by this once-in-a-lifetime chance to rejoin Maui”.
Which Was Motivated by the spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. It’s an honor for us to work with @DisneyStudios to communicate our story through music and dance, which are fundamental to who we are as Polynesians.
As the film came to a close, Johnson’s daughters brought him a genuine copy of Maui’s enchanted fishing hook. Does dad speak Maui? They said “No,” in response to his question. They were told by Johnson, “You guys want ice cream?… so dad’s Maui.”
