Dr. Shannon Curry

In April of 2022, Dr. Shannon Curry, a psychologist, made her first appearance as a witness in the Depp-Heard libel trial.

Curry claimed that she had been asked to perform “a psychological diagnosis” of Heard and that the actress’s behaviour reflected symptoms of borderline personality disorder and a histrionic personality disorder, in which there is an excessive need to draw attention to oneself.

After analysing Heard’s statements, she came to the conclusion that the actress “grossly inflated” her PTSD symptoms during her relationship with Depp.

She continued by saying that the actor had gone from being “idealized to the rubbish” in the eyes of the actresses.

The clinical psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes testified on behalf of Ms. Heard in May 2022, and Curry was brought to the stand once more to “rebut” the evidence.

Hughes denied that Amber had personality issues and that she had developed PTSD due to Mr. Depp’s treatment of her.

Dr. Curry re-appeared in court to accuse Dr. Hughes of “misrepresenting” the tests and results she used to evaluate Ms. Heard.

“She lied about the tests I took and the scores I got in my evaluation. And in her testimony, she portrayed her own views and Ms. Heard’s self-report as if they were established truth.
