Derek Hough, the fourth of five children in a Latter-day Saint household, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1985. His mom and dad, Marianne and Bruce, are also teachers, and his four sisters are named Sharee, Marabeth, Katherine, and Julianne.
