Country Comfort, a musical comedy that premiered on Netflix in March 2021, will not be renewed for a second season due to Netflix’s decision. Despite the fact that the sitcom went on to win a Primetime Emmy, this is the case. Here’s what we know about the cancellation so far.
Caryn Lucas created Country Comfort, a Netflix Original family comedic comedy series. Country Comfort is the 20th Netflix Original sitcom released to date.
Baily, an ambitious young country singer, takes a position as a nanny for the rugged cowboy Beau after her personal life is ruined and her career suffers a major setback.
The previous nine nannies had a hard time dealing with Beau’s five children, but Bailey’s arrival fills the need left by the absence of a mother figure in their lives. Bailey might just need Beau’s musically talented family to set her back on the road to glory.
Netflix has renewed Country Comfort Season 2 for a second season
Unfortunately, there were early indications that Country Comfort would not be renewed for a second season. The show swiftly slid off of the top ten lists all across the world. It was only in the top ten in the United States for ten days. We need to see the show thrive for at least 30 days in one location in order to renew it.
According to Deadline, shows like Country Comfort were canceled because the first seasons effectively serve as pilots, but we think that’s merely a clever PR move.
Season 2 was decided in the middle of May 2021, according to Eddie Cibrian, who says:
“We’re so close to learning about what you’ve been asking for…Season 2!!” So, this weekend, we need all of you Country Comforters (just made that up) to watch, rewatch, and urge others to watch and rewatch so we can make Netflix and Netflix Family a simple decision!”
As we’ve previously noted, Netflix has struggled with multi-cam sitcoms, but its comedy lineup in general appears to be a persistent source of strain.
George Mooradian won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Multi-Camera Series in the episode Crazy after the show was nominated. Last Man Standing, The Connors, and Netflix’s own The Upshaws were among the competition.
It was going to be canceled, as we expected, unless there was a dramatic improvement in viewing.
Country Comfort, along with a slew of other Netflix comedies, was formally canceled in early July 2021, according to Deadline.

Even an Emmy nomination couldn’t save the show.
Regrettably, no members of the cast or crew have responded to the cancellation in any official capacity online, whether on social media or elsewhere.
Season 2 of Country Comfort delivered just what we had hoped for
After Boone announced his departure from the competition to join Keith Urban on tour, Baily was left without a band to accompany her. Despite her best efforts to withdraw from the competition, Baily ended up performing “Bless the Broken Road” alongside four of Beau’s children.
The results of Bailey’s competition should be revealed in the second season. Bailey still doesn’t have a band to accompany her without Boone, so we might see more of Beau’s children join her for future performances.
Meanwhile, Tuck told Jo that his brother Brody likes her, hinting at a possible romance between the two teenagers.
Despite the concerns of some of the youngsters, Summer and Beau’s romance continues to blossom. Summer is eager to get a ring on her finger, but putting too much pressure on the tough cowboy might push him away.
The kids clearly like Baily, and Beau holds the country singer in high regard, so if something happens between Summer and Beau, a new romance between Bailey and Beau could blossom instead.
