Ralphie May, a beloved comedian with a distinct southern drawl, has died at the age of 45. As reported by THR, his manager Judie Brown has verified his passing. TMZ claims that May died from pneumonia.
May, a stand-up comedian with a long history of success, was currently in the midst of a national tour that included a stop at Harrah’s in Las Vegas. The following month would see dozens of such events take place across the country.
May was notorious for making biting comments on race, relationships, and American society, among other things, including his own weight. Throughout his 20-year career, he impressed audiences with his adaptability, intelligence, and humorous one-liners.

A spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner told Us Weekly on December 6 that Ralphie May died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Since no illegal substances were detected in his system, his death was classified as natural.
Comedian died of heart arrest on October 6 in Las Vegas, as was previously reported. He was 45. His manager, Judi Marmel, told Us Weekly at the time, “Ralphie had been battling pneumonia and had canceled a handful of dates over the prior month in an effort to recover.”
According to the coroner’s report, “early this morning his body was discovered at a private apartment in Las Vegas, cause of death is cardiac arrest.”
