The Colombian singer, songwriter, and record producer Maluma has a $12 million net worth. Maluma entered this world on January 24th, 1994 in Medellin, Colombia. Reggaeton and pop are two of his musical influences.

In 2012, Maluma’s first full-length album, titled Magia, was published on Sony Music Colombia. In 2015, Sony Music Latin released his second studio album, titled Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy. The album debuted at number one on the US Latin album chart and went on to achieve number two positions in both Mexico and Spain.

Both “Borro Cassette” and “El Perdedor” by Maluma have become Top 10 hits in their respective countries. He has also appeared on the number one songs of Ricky Martin and Shakira, “Vente Pa’ Ca” and “Chantaje,” respectively.

In 2014, Maluma was named the Best Colombian Artist at the MTV Millennial Awards. Furthermore, he has been shortlisted for two Billboard Music Awards and two Latin Grammys.

Early Life

Born Juan Luis Londono Arias on January 28, 1994, in Medellin, Colombia, he is better known by his stage name, Maluma. Luis Fernando Londoo and Marelli Arias’ youngest kid. Manuela Londoo Arias is his older sister’s name.

Maluma developed a love for sports, particularly football, as he was developing into adolescence. He followed his passion for football all the way down to the lower leagues, playing for clubs like Equidad Sports Club and Atletico Nacional.

Soon after, as a young boy, he discovered music, in which he quickly became interested. Maluma graduated from the Hontaranes School in El Retiro, where he had previously demonstrated his singing talents to modest acclaim.

Maluma’s first single, titled “No Quiero,” was recorded when he was just 15 years old. The next year saw the song’s studio recording at long last.

His single garnered the attention of record executives, who advised that Juan Luis Londono Arias adopt a new name. At some point down the line, he decided on Maluma as his name.

Career

In 2010, Maluma decided to make a career out of his music and has long been a fan. With the release of his first radio hit track, titled Farandulera, he was able to secure a recording contract with Sony Music Colombia, a successful offshoot label owned by Sony.

Maluma’s first studio album, titled Magia, was released in 2012 as part of the agreement. Singles like “Obsession” and “Miss Independent” helped the album achieve minor popularity.

More than 205 million people have watched the music video for his single “Obsession,” and several of his other songs, including “Miss Independent” and “Pasarla Bien,” peaked at number two on the Colombian National-Report singles chart.

Maluma’s first single, La Temperatura, featuring Puerto Rican singer Eli Palacios, was released in 2013 in anticipation of his debut mixtape, PB.DB.

You’ve got the Mixtape. There was a lot of success for the song, as it peaked at #7 on the National-Report charts, #25 on the Tropical Singles list, and #4 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay Singles chart.

When he and singer Elvis Crespo released “Olé Brazil,” the official theme song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, they both gained widespread attention. At the 2014 Premios Juventud, he sang “La Temperatura.”

The following month, Maluma joined Andrés Cepeda and Fanny Lu on The Voice Kids on Caracol TV as a judge and coach. Maluma hosted for the first time the Kids’ Choice Awards Colombia in 2014. His first official mixtape was dubbed PB.DB was released in the early months of 2015. We have here, of course, the Mixtape.

Maluma’s career took off after the publication of his second studio album, Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy, in the latter half of 2015. After debuting at No. 1 on the US Latin chart, No. 2 in Mexico and Spain, and in the Top 10 in Uruguay and Argentina, the album was an enormous hit.

In addition, the album has three hit singles—Borró Cassette, El Perdedor, and Sin Contrato—all of which peaked in the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Singles chart. Sales of the Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy LP have topped 400k copies around the world.

Maluma has been featured on several songs by other artists, including those by Shakira on “Chantaje,” Ricky Martin on “Vente Pa’ Ca,” Madonna on “Medelln,” and Bitch I’m Loca. His track “Corazón” from 2017 peaked in the top 5 of the charts, and its accompanying music video has amassed over 1.5 billion views on YouTube.

Maluma released his third studio album, named F.A.M.E., on May 18, 2018, and it quickly became his best-selling album to date.

Musicians including Jason Derulo, Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, and the album’s producers Jay Cash and Vinylz also made appearances.

Hits like “HP,” “11 PM,” “Instinto Natural,” and “No Se Me Quita” were featured on the singer’s 2019 fourth studio album, titled 11:11. They collaborated on J Balvin’s song “Qué Pena” that same year.

The second track “Hawái” from Maluma’s fifth studio album “Papi Juancho,” which was released on August 21, 2020, went viral and became a financial success. More than 886 million people have watched the music video for this song on YouTube.

After the song was successful, Maluma made a remix of it that featured The Weeknd, which eventually became his most successful single to date.
