Line of Duty Season 7

Line of Duty’s fans have been begging for a seventh season since the show’s dramatic sixth season end. Season 6 ultimately revealed the identity of H, with DC Chloe Bishop finding that Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) was the real culprit. However, Line of Duty star Vicky McClure’s recent statements suggest that the drama is far from over.

McClure claimed she’d be “game” for a seventh season in an interview with The Guardian.

“Honestly, I’m stumped. I have no idea; it hasn’t been reported anywhere. “We’re all game” if that happens, I think we’ve all been quite honest with each other “she remarked on the subject. Her co-stars Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston were also mentioned, and she said she would love to be a part of a new version of the programme with them if they were interested.

“I’m going to stick with the boys for now.. When the time comes to say our goodbyes, I believe it will be an easy one for all of us.” For those who, like us, cannot stop wondering about AC-12 and whether they’ll be back doing what they do best (capturing bent coppers), here is the most recent information on a possible season 7 return of the BBC drama..

We’ve got Line of Duty answers and Line of Duty red herrings if you’re still curious about the season 6 finale, so check those out as well while we’re waiting for the season 6 finale to air.

Release Date Of Line of Duty Season 7

Season 7 has yet to be commissioned, but if it is, we’ll have to wait a while.

If you’ve missed the previous five seasons of “Line of Duty,” they aired in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019. If you want to see the show at another time of year, there’s no law against it airing in March or April.

We still have hope that Mercurio can write and film the next season in time for a 2022 premiere, but we believe that Line of Duty will return in spring 2023 instead.

It would be a disgrace if Martin Compston and his Line of Duty co-stars didn’t take a break before working together again, as he recently told ES Magazine: “I would be devastated to think that I would never get to work with all of the men again. In addition, I think everyone, including the audience, is in need of a break from the recent events that have been taking place. So we’ll have to wait and see.”

Cast Of Line of Duty Season 7

Martin Compston (DI Steve Arnott), Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings), and Vicky McClure are all alive and well after season six, so we’re hopeful that they’ll return in season seven (DI Kate Fleming).

AC-12’s hardest-working new recruit DC Chloe Bishop (Shalom Brune-Franklin) is also expected to return, although nothing is guaranteed as the city’s anti-corruption teams unite).

When Grazia interviewed Anna Maxwell Martin, she said she had no idea if the show will return or if the actress herself would return as DCS Patricia Carmichael: “I wouldn’t know… I’m not sure.” I don’t hang out with the cool kids there, and I doubt they even realise I’m there.’

But what about the next guest star in the Line of Duty series?

Guest performers including Lennie James, Keeley Hawes and Daniel Mays have already appeared in the series. Stephen Graham and Kelly MacDonald are expected to join in the future.

Only Hawes has starred in more than one season of Line of Duty in this star-studded cast. Even though she made it out of the sixth season of CSI alive, Kelly Macdonald’s character, Jo Davidson, may be able to do the same, as her story concluded with her being placed in witness protection (with a girlfriend, an idyllic cottage and a golden retriever).

Season seven’s lead actor will very certainly be chosen by Jed Mercurio, but we’ll have to wait and see.

End Lines

Even if he hasn’t made a firm commitment, he hasn’t ruled it out either. While in May of 2021, following the season 6 finale, creator Jed Mercurio claimed it was “too soon to say” if there would be a season 7. The writer of Bodyguard told Den of Geek, “I’d think it’s too soon.”. Until we know more, it’s too early to draw any conclusions.
