Anderson worked for Jim Crockett Promotions for most of his wrestling career. He was a part of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew, a made-up family that ruled the tag team division in the 1970s and 1980s. Ole’s first retirement didn’t last long. He was back in the ring by 1988, but only on a much smaller scale. He joined the Four Horsemen again in 1989, but he quit in 1990 to become WCW’s lead booker and work behind the scenes.
Anderson wasn’t in professional wrestling much for the last 30 years of his life after Eric Bischoff fired him in 1994. The Four Horsemen’s captain, Ric Flair, expressed his sorrow about Ole’s passing on X:
I Am Forever Thankful To Ole And Gene For Bringing Me In To Crockett Promotions As A Cousin. It Launched My Career.
