Neel Acharya’s Life Cut Short In The US

On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., officers from the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office were summoned to 500 Allison Road in West Lafayette about a possible dead body. When they got to the Purdue campus, they discovered a “college-aged male” dead outside Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories.
“It is with great sadness that I inform you that one of our students Neel Acharya has passed away,” said Chris Clifton, interim director of the university’s computer science department, in an email to the faculty expressing his condolences. “The leadership in the Department of Computer Science expresses our profound sorrow for his passing. I am deeply saddened by his loss. My condolences go out to his friends family and all affected”.
Acharya’s death follows the horrific murder of Vivek Saini, an Indian student who had just graduated from the US with an MBA.
