Welcome to Derry Synopsis
The series will act as a prelude to the events shown in the films, which is one thing we already know about it. Before Pennywise took over and started haunting the streets and terrifying families, how was Derry? The complete narrative will be provided by Welcome to Derry.
The series will eventually provide us with some explanations for the origins of Pennywise and how the curse got started. In a recent interview with Variety, HBO Max’s president of originals Sarah Aubrey discussed their forthcoming films and gave a sneak preview of Welcome to Derry.

We’ve been collaborating closely with Jason Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, Andy Muschietti, and Barbara Muschietti…They are so well-versed in this mythology, and they have a good grasp on both the twisted terror they are creating for the audience as well as the storyline surrounding these characters.
What’s wrong with you, I wonder sometimes. Simply call the bizarre ways they devise to scare us. In the very near future, you’ll get more details regarding that development. The true secret to success and audience awe is Andy’s intense involvement in every aspect of this.
