The famous anime series Talentless Nana, commonly known as Munou na Nana, is based on the Looseboy and Iori Furuya manga of the same name. A thirteen-episode television animation produced by Studio Bridge broadcast from October 4, 2020, to December 27, 2020 on local network stations AT-X, Tokyo MX, SUN, and TVA.

It received widespread acclaim. Since its first season ended in December 2020, fans have been wondering whether the anime would return for a second season.

The likelihood of a sequel in anime mostly hinges on three factors: Supply of raw materials and demand for finished goods.

Now I’ll go through what I found in three brief parts and let you know whether you can anticipate an announcement for Munou na Nana Season 2 in 2022.

Begin with a thorough review of the original source material.

Talentless Nana Season 2 Storyline

The “Enemies of Humanity” begin to arrive in the near future, and so do youngsters with supernatural talents known as the “Talented” along with them.

All the Talented are transported to a school on a lonely island to learn how to fight these Enemies, and connection with the outside world is prohibited until they have completed their studies.

Nana Hiiragi, a new student, shows up one day at the school. Her outgoing and upbeat demeanour allows her to immediately make friends with the rest of the students in her class.

However, Nana is a Talentless government assassin who has been ordered to assassinate the Talented, whom the government views to be the genuine Enemies of Humanity.

For Talentless Nana Season 2, Is There Enough Material?

In the modern day, most anime adaptations are based on pre-existing manga, light novel, game, or other sort of source material.

For Talentless Nana, manga is the primary source of inspiration. Once those numbers are known, we’ll need to see whether the show is still running strong and how many episodes have been produced thus far.

Monthy Shounen Gangan, a shounen manga magazine produced by Square Enix, has been running Nana since May 12, 2016. Eight volumes of Munou na Nana have been published in Japan as of May 2021.

A new volume of the Looseboy, Iori manga series is published every 7-8 months on average, with the last book being released on October 12, 2020.. For the sake of the anime series, the manga is now being released.

The first season of the Talentless Nana anime only covered the first four volumes, leaving behind four volumes of additional material.

To summarise, there are still 4 volumes to be adapted, which means there is enough content for another one-season run. The fact that the series is still continuing on is a huge bonus for a sequel.

Talentless Nana Season 2 : Popularity And Sales Are Closely Linked

Our goal in this part is to determine whether or not the anime was even profitable for the production committee. We’ll look at its Blu-ray, DVD, and manga sales for this.

Before continuing, you should be aware that the majority of today’s anime is produced primarily for the purpose of promoting and boosting sales of its original source material (in this case a manga).

Their primary source of revenue comes from the sales of the light novel and merchandise, with the balance coming from advertising fees, internet streaming licences, and Blu-ray.

The average cost of producing a 12-episode season of an anime television show is about $3 million.

As of the most recent edition, Talentless Nana has sold 97,000 copies. Volume 8’s numbers have not yet been released. As a result of the anime’s airing, sales have risen somewhat since then. Furthermore, its most recent volume spent three weeks in the top 500 best-seller manga lists.

A manga with a typical circulation of 100,000-500,000 copies is considered a decent scene, thus it is doing around average.

Sales of Nana’s Blu-ray

For anime makers, disc sales are a major factor in determining their financial success. A second season for an anime with disc sales exceeding 5,000 is generally considered good news.

The Blu-ray DVD sales for Talentless Nana aren’t looking great. According to SomeAniThing.com, only 163 copies of Talentless Nana: The Complete First Season were sold in the United States. As a result, neither the second nor the third volume made a profit.

While those numbers don’t seem good, there’s still hope for a second season given the increasing streaming and merchandise revenue coming in from local and international firms like Crunchyroll and BiliBli in the next year.

Sales aren’t fantastic, but they’re enough to warrant a second season.

The series’ popularity in both Japan and the United States.

Here, we’ll take a look at how popular this series is and how much the anime helped. This may be determined by looking at the official social media accounts, MyAnimeList and other lists, as well as the popularity of the source material.

Manga As A Source of Information

For a series published in a monthly magazine, the Talentless Nana manga is surprisingly successful in Japan. It has ranked in the top 500 best-selling manga of all time. One week for the first and second volumes, and four weeks for volume three.

The fifth ranked for 3 weeks, the sixth for 2 weeks, and the most recent for 3 weeks. ”

On the other side, the Twitter account for I am Standing on One Million Lives has more than 29,000 followers and has already announced a second season of the show.
