Following the terrible death, his bereaved wife issued a statement via Lewis’ publicist Jeff Abraham. “His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship, and support and asks for privacy at this time,” the statement said, according to Deadline.
The actor from Once Upon a Crime first appeared in the 1979 NBC program Diary of a Young Comic. The 90-minute film was shown during the exact same time slot as Saturday Night Live.
