Locke & Key creators Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez recently spoke about a possible crossover with the upcoming Netflix production “The Sandman,” based on the same comic series. The Sandman comics received several awards, including the Eisner Award, several times.
Locke & Key is based on a comic book series of the same name, which revolves around the adventures of the Locke family and their mysterious Keyhouse house.
Several mysterious keys are discovered in this, hunted by an unknown demonic being for malicious purposes.
The series premiered on Netflix in 2020. The second season was released on October 22nd. A third season has already been announced.
The Crossover Is Not Yet Dry
The two series, which already overlapped in the comics, share elements of fantasy and horror and would work well for a crossover. In contrast to “Locke & Key,” Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” struggled for a long time to get on screen. Several films and television projects were not released. That should change now.
Still, Hill and Rodriguez were ambivalent about a possible crossover of the two series set in the same universe. You could understand that, given its long development phase, “The Sandman” should first establish itself before it comes to a crossover. Even so, fans of the comics could look forward to a possible coincidence of the two series.
Locke & Key Season 3: When Will It Release?
As of now, an official release date for the third season of the famous ‘Locke & Key’ is not known. If there is an assumption, it might release on Netflix in 2022. Season 3 got an early renewal, and it is somewhat faster compared to the other Netflix shows. As fans, you might have to wait for a bit of extra for the third season to release.
Lock & Key Season 3: What Is The Plot?
Significant details regarding the plot of Season 3 are not known yet. Though, the end of Season 2 gives us specific ideas about the story. We saw that Tyler moves to Boston to study, deciding that he wouldn’t use the Reminder Key before leaving. This gives us the idea that Tyler may forget everything about the keys and magic after his 18th birthday.
Moreover, a new villain emerges at the end of Season 2. Gideon throws Eden into a deep well, and we don’t know if he is dead or alive.
The makers have confirmed that Kevin Durand, the actor who plays Gideon in the show, has been promoted to a series regular. This certainly means that we can see him as the main villain in the new season of Locke & Key.
