He is the great-grandson of Benjamin Platt, the founder and proprietor of the nationwide Platt Music Corporation chain of stores, and the grandson of philanthropist, electronics industry entrepreneur, and Jewish activist Herman Platt.
Flagg is the grandson of American (Romanian-born) fashion industry entrepreneur and designer Edith Flagg, who is most known for being one of the first designers in the United States to import polyester as a fashion cloth. Edith was later noted for her recurring role alongside her grandson on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.
Flagg attended Brentwood School, a private school in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, where he grew up. Flagg transferred from Brentwood to Beverly Hills High School in 2003, where he graduated the following year.

Flagg began his career working for real estate broker Bruce Nelson at the John Bruce Nelson company in Bel Air while still in high school, followed by a brief spell at the Coldwell Banker Beverly Hills East office in 2007.
Flagg has had multiple record sales in his tenure as a real estate agent, including the largest selling in Brentwood Park history and a $25 million home sale in Beverly Hills. He’s also worked as a listing agent for prestigious estates like Merv Griffin’s Bel Air home and Dorothy Chandler’s Hancock Park home.
