Dell Curry has confirmed his second marriage without disclosing his new spouse’s identity.
“I didn’t know what I was going to do after the divorce,” he told the Charlotte Observer.
“I thought about going to the West Coast, but I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m not going to follow my sons. I’m going to stick it out, hang here’.
“Then I had friends who introduced me to my wife now. I’d met her a couple of times; we talked on the phone for a month before I laid eyes on her.
“I wasn’t going to get married again, but life is great right now. It couldn’t be better. For me, I’m at a great place in my life. My home situation is sound. My kids and their families are doing great. They’re happy for me. I’m happy for them. So, life’s good.”
Dell And Sonya Divorced Severely After 33 Years
After 33 years of marriage, Dell and Sonya Curry filed for divorce in 2021. They tied the knot in 1988 when Dell was still playing for the Hornets of Charlotte. Stephen and Seth Curry, both sons, and Sydel Curry, a daughter, were born during their marriage.

After 30 years together, things didn’t work out. The marriage ended badly due to both partners’ adultery. Sonya filed for divorce first, citing Dell’s extramarital encounters as “marital misconduct” in her petition.
Dell, in filing for divorce, made similar allegations against his ex-wife. The former NBA player said Sonya stayed with another man, calling her actions “acts of illicit s*xual misconduct.” In the midst of his continued efforts to advance his career in the league.
Almost two years have passed since the divorce was finalized, and both parties have moved on with their lives.
