Have you ever pondered the result of combining Élite and The Crown with a healthy dose of Skam, the Nordic version of Skins? We didn’t think it either, but creators Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung, and Camilla Holter proved us wrong with Young Royals.
For the most part, it succeeds admirably, delivering an engaging LGBTQ+ love story about a man divided between love and duty.
In the first season, Prince Wilhelm enrolled at Hillerska Boarding School and was eventually forced to choose between royal duty and his feelings for Simon, a student from a less aristocratic family.
Young Royals Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 of Young Royals was confirmed in September 2021, but production didn’t begin until October 2022. In the meantime, Netflix released a teaser video in which Ryding and Rudberg were seen filming on the Hillerska set.
Thanks to Netflix’s announcement that production had concluded on October 11, everything appears to have gone off without a hitch.
Netflix once again took to Twitter in august 2022 to announce that the second season of the popular show would premiere in the following November, this time with a photo of the series’ main cast posing in front of a sign reading “November” next to a heart.

Young Royals Season 2 Cast
Although Netflix hasn’t revealed the full casting announcement for season 2, we know without a doubt that we will be reunited with Wilhelm and Simon will be back for more!
It’s safe to presume that most of the regulars will return for Season 2. We announced the core members of season 1’s cast who will be back for season 2:

Can you tease out the plot of Young Royals Season 2?
The relationship between Wilhelm and Simon broke down after August leaked their sex tape. To protect the throne, Wilhelm was urged by his relatives to deny his participation in the video.
The man then asked Simon whether the two of them could secretly remain together, but Simon declined. Wilhelm tells Simon towards the end of the first season that he loves him, but he doesn’t want them to be a public couple anymore.
Although it’s evident that they still care about one another, the fact that they’re both students at Hillerska suggests that their love story has more chapters to come.
In another part of the world, August and Sara have begun an intimate connection behind closed doors. Season 2 will undoubtedly reveal this, and considering August’s treatment of Felice and Simon, it’s unlikely that they will approve.
