Streaming television series Narcos: Mexico was created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro and aired on Netflix on November 16, 2018. As a result, it will be a stand-alone show rather than a continuation of Netflix’s Narcos season 4.

Narcos Mexico Season 2 Plot-
As reported by Deadline, season three takes place in the 1990s and examines the ongoing war between the various factions which emerged following Gallardo’s incarceration: “As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-down only pushes real victory further away.”
Chatting to Collider, Newman said: “It’s very much an acceleration into chaos, but we’re still in the early days of it. Félix Gallardo going to jail, and the splintering of this thing he had built into these fiefdoms, was the beginning of the first incredibly violent chapter of the drug war. We’re heading into the ’90s, where it gets really ugly, because that thing that held everybody together, which was Félix Gallardo and his dream, is gone, and so the killing starts.”
