Tuesday morning, Mark Richt provided an update on his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
The former Georgia and Miami coach revealed on social media that he is currently taking the Parkinson’s medicine Levodopa, which Richt claimed is intended to help people with the disease for the first time.
According to the source, levodopa is frequently considered to be the first-line medication for the treatment of Parkinson’s motor symptoms.

When Richt had his heart attack in 2019, he was 59 years old and employed at the ACC Network. Richt has remained with the ACC Network throughout this season, most recently serving on the broadcast team for the ACC Championship Game last week.
Richt coached for 18 seasons, spending the first 15 at Georgia before taking over as head coach of his alma mater, the Miami Hurricanes, from 2016 to 2018.
