How To Enable Secure Boot in Your UEFI/BIOS While Installing Windows 11?

Turning on Secure Boot is easiest when done in the UEFI/BIOS. Usually, you’ll find it as a choice in the BIOS’s menu of settings, and turning it on will activate it.

When your computer boots up (or restarts), you must continually hit the key combination that will take you into the UEFI/BIOS. The actual key may differ depending on the manufacturer of your motherboard or computer system, but popular options are Del, F2, F10, F11, and F12.

1. Go to the motherboard’s or system’s handbook, or look up the manufacturer’s website, for information on how to enter the UEFI/BIOS. If you’d rather, you can instead utilize the Windows Boot Manager. If your UEFI/BIOS gives a choice between a limited and an advanced option, select the latter.

2. You should be able to find a Boot or Security tab near the top of the screen. In all probability, Secure Boot can be found in one of those menus.

3. For this tutorial and accompanying screenshots, we used an ASROCK B450M Pro 4 motherboard. The Secure Boot selection may be found in the Security menu, one of two main categories. Secure Boot could be located in a variety of places depending on your UEFI/BIOS.

4. To locate Secure Boot, peruse the tab’s list of available settings until you locate it. To turn something on or off, click the switch that appears if there is one.

5. If your UEFI/BIOS has a dedicated button, use it to save your settings. Choose Save if you’d rather not use the Save and Exit buttons.

6. When you are through configuring Secure Boot and are ready to save and exit, either use the dedicated shortcut key or go to File > Save and Exit (or its equivalent). If you are prompted to confirm you’re saved, do so.
