Bobby Shmurda’s Early Life

Bobby Shmurda’s real name is Ackquille Pollard, and he was born in Miami, Florida. His mother is African-American, while his father is Jamaican. His mother relocated from Florida to East Flatbush, New York, when his father was imprisoned.

Pollard ran into some legal issues while residing in Brooklyn. He served fifteen months in a correctional institution for violating the terms of his probation, and he was once detained for possessing a g*n, but the accusations were eventually dismissed.

Pollard, the police alleged in 2014, was the head of a gang named “GS9.” This gang often clashed with other gangs, was engaged in sh00tings and killings, and peddled d*ugs from Kings Highway to East Flatbush.

Shmurda was a major member of the GS9 gang. They battled with other gangs and sold d*ugs. He might have spent 8 to 25 years in prison for this. According to the leader of the NYPD squad, James Essig, Shmurda’s songs and videos demonstrated what his gang was up to. In one song, “Hot Nigga,” he spoke about growing up and selling d*ugs, as well as his gang’s aggressive behavior.

Although he said in interviews that his songs were inspired by his own experiences, a judge ruled that song lyrics cannot be used in court unless they are directly related to a crime. Shmurda was involved in a brawl in prison that may have been part of a gang feud. He and his ex-girlfriend were apprehended while attempting to carry a weapon into the prison.

They were accused of bringing illicit things into the country and possessing a firearm, which could add seven years to his sentence. Shmurda appeared in court for the new charges as well as the previous ones. Although he and his ex-girlfriend claimed they were not guilty of the additional allegations, Shmurda faced up to 25 years in prison for the d*ug and g*n counts.
